Strathearn Herbalist - Clare Mullan
I am Strathearn Herbalist, Claire Mullan (a.k.a. Hedgerow Hippy) and I blog and teach about natural remedies, wild food and practical plants.
Why?
- Because when people find out I’m a Herbalist they want to know more. They don’t want me to fix them, they want to learn how to fix themselves and they want me to help them do that.
- Because I want to practice self-care and achieve wellbeing through a mindful connection to nature. And I want to help you do that too.
- Because I want to share the wonder of the wild weeds. It’s just so cool to be able to show someone something that will change the way they see the world. Once you’ve been out with me, a walk in the park will never be the same again.
- Because sustainable living is important in an increasingly industrialised world. Come the zombie apocalypse we’re all going to need some skills.
Learning about herbs and herbal medicine has been one of the most empowering experiences of my life. It started in the early 90’s with a Lomond Guide to Wild Flowers (£1 from Bargain Books) which kindled an interest in the natural world from childhood; intensified in 2005 as I immersed myself for 4 years in degree level study of Herbal Medicine (BSc First Class Honours) and continues every day as I explore new plants, new ideas, new plant adventures to have.
